What makes this lamp unique is the fact that it has a base the is made out of made of solid aircraft aluminum that is precision machined. The actual lighting comes from a halogen bulb that is recessed and flush mounted. You will have a choice of either frosted or black glass that can be positioned horizontally or vertically. Yes you read correctly, it is a convertible. So when you friends stop by at your cocktail party, it will look you purchased a new lamp when all you really did is change the position of the glass. Uhhh.. hmmmm.... Sorry for digressing but the glass has polished edges and a nice coated surface. To make sure that you know that your ogusdesign lamp is made for you and you only, they have made sure that each base has its own serial number for authenticity. Not bad at all. We reccomend purchasing an extra slab of glass in a different color so you can customize the lamp up to (4) different ways. This lamp is hand made in Canada.
