reiss f.d. is a modern design company that specializes in bent ply furniture. Founder and principal designer Stephen Calleja, and co-founder, Michelle Calleja, originally from Scotland, now reside in California.
Stephens obsession with bent ply began some eight years ago in Glasgow, where exhibition by Alvar Aalto introduced him to this additive medium. Although not opposed to 90 degrees angles (rumor has it, that square table can be found at his home!), it is the infinite possibilities that can be achieved by simply bending a piece of material that continued to inspire Stephen. Each piece in the new collection was prototyped by Stephen, prior to being put into production.
